CramHacks Chronicles #52: Weekly Cybersecurity Newsletter!

CramHacks takes Switzerland

🥳 Happy Monday! 🥳

This week’s newsletter is quick, as I’m on vacation in Switzerland!

Up until this vacation, I have never missed a weekly CramHacks newsletter. But we’re a few days in, and I now recognize how much it was/is needed. Therefore, I will drop some photos this week, skip next week, and be back with 110% energy after that.

Thank you everyone ❤️ !

Photo Creds to thee 🤓 Jillian.

If you write a newsletter, you likely read many. One of my favorites is S3C, written by Evan Anderson and brought to you by Stacklok.

If you’re interested in more insights on software supply chain security, I’d recommend subscribing! The articles may overlap now and then with CramHacks, but there are plenty of differences 🙂.

GitLab: 2024 Global DevSecOps Report
64% want to consolidate their toolchain.
67% have mostly automated software development.
67% say +25% of their project’s code is open source; only 21% use SBOMs.
78% are adopting AI in software development, up from 64% in 2023.

Upcoming Events

OWASP Global AppSec US Conference
I look forward to being in San Francisco from September 25 to 27. Let me know if you’d like to meet up!

The Secure Open Source Software (SOSS) Fusion Conference
I’m unsure if I’ll be attending yet, but this will be an incredible conference for those interested in securing the open-source ecosystem. I’m hoping to make it happen. This is the first year for SOSS Fusion, so I expect it will be relatively intimate but with some seriously talented folks.

Until Next Time! 👋

Hey, you made it to the bottom – thanks for sticking around!

Questions, ideas, or want to chat? Slide into my inbox! 💌

Don’t hesitate to forward if someone could benefit from this.

See you next Monday!
